The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has officially approved an increase in the Minimum Support Prices (MSP) for 14 Kharif crops for the 2026-27 marketing season. This decision aims to ensure remunerative prices for growers and reflects a continued commitment to agricultural growth.

 

Key Highlights of the 2026-27 MSP Announcement

The new price structure ensures a margin of at least 50% over the cost of production for all 14 crops.

  • Highest Price Increase: Sunflower Seed saw the largest absolute increase at ₹622 per quintal.
  • Significant Gains: Notable hikes were also approved for Cotton (₹557), Nigerseed (₹515), and Sesamum (₹500).
  • Paddy Rates: The MSP for Common Paddy has been raised to ₹2,441 per quintal, while Grade A Paddy is now set at ₹2,461.
